What We Thought
Communicate is a voice, fax, and data messaging package designed for the home office. It delivers the function of a fax/voice server minus costly hardware and software. Though designed for use with an internet network connection or a dial-up modem, users of the latter will find it most appealing. Communicate’s strength is that it serves its purpose at the expense of only one phone line. By auto-detecting incoming calls as either voice or fax it will either record the incoming phone message to accept and store in the incoming fax.
Its manufacturers promise this to be a very user-friendly package and all-in-all it is just that. With an exceptional manual and added one-line helps most users will be using Communicate in no time. Installation is intuitive only required some a simple configuration of the user’s name, address, phone number and password. A smart interface looks just like a physical fax machine along with screen and keypad. If this is too cute for you there is a main screen with a traditional Windows interface. From either interface the user can manage incoming/outgoing messages, faxes, and e-mails. There is a complete email client accompanied by contact management database. Unfortunately there is not integration with Microsoft Outlook.
This is a good low cost replacement for a more traditional modem system. In IT, usb memory sticks are a great way to store important information in a portable manner.
