Egg Throwing 2
Egg throwing is one of the most enjoyable sports played all over the world. Thousands of competitors have enjoyed the sport since the ancient Romans began egg throwing many centuries ago. Although egg throwing was popular with the ancient Romans, it went unnoticed by the Greeks who were known as great athletes.
There are several variations to the game of egg throwing. There is the Distance variation where the winner must throw a raw egg on the ground the longest distance without the egg breaking. The egg is to land within a specified area and land on the grassy field without breaking.
In the Throwing and Catching game, team members must stand a distance of ten metres apart from each other. The winning team must toss the egg the longest distance possible without dropping the egg.
Other variations of the game include the Egg Relay and the Accuracy game.
A man named Johnnie Dell Foley set the world’s record in egg throwing back in 1978. Ever since then, players around the world have been competing to beat his record, but no one has succeeded. He threw an egg the greatest distance ever without the egg breaking. That record distance is 213 metres.
All players of the egg throwing game can enter the game free of charge because no entry fee is required. All players are required to bring a container that can carry an egg. Great prizes are awarded by the sponsors of the game which serve as a great motivation to enter the competition.
